Our goal is to provide a safe workplace and offer safe and courteous transportaton to the public. Which would include knowledge of traffic laws, keeping records, maintaining conduct and order on the bus, operate a bus on a regular schedule or on a special occasion, pre and post trip inspections, minor maintenance and repair tasks including adding necessary fluids, knowledge and physical ability to secure wheelchair's and operate lifts.
The transportation provisions of the ADA guarantee individuals equal access to the area services and programs that are available to the general public. These provisions require that transportation services, programs, and the facilities are made accessible to individuals, including people who use wheelchairs. The Town of Monroe Dial-A-Bus is committed to offering safe, reliable, affordable and professional transportation to the general public. We will ensure that our passengers receive a safe ride, and that all passengers receive equal service.
We are professional and respect all individuals/residents that ride our buses.
*Dial-A-Bus will transport anyone who needs a ride to the new Town Hall (1465 Orange Turnpike) and the new Crystal Run Health Center via the Express Bus. How We Work
You must call the office to make a reservation in order to have a bus pick you up. The dispatcher will set you up with a time of pick up and a return time (if requested). We recommend 3-5 days notice whenever possible. Please allow enough time before and after your pick-up. We will usually pick up other people along the way. All riders must make a reservation and each destination must be told to the dispatcher. Dial-A-Bus will service as many residents as possible. We run 2 - 5 buses daily and one fixed route bus. The express route is a fixed route service that does not require reservations. Just be in any safe place along the route. See a driver or call the office for details.
Making your Reservation
Our office hours are Monday - Friday 8:00am - 1:00pm. You must call during these hours and speak to the dispatcher. We cannot schedule more than one week ahead of time. We will set you up with a pick up and a return (if requested). Cancellations and changes require 24 hours notice. Cancellations only can be left on the answering machine.
The Town Board of Monroe intends to provide inexpensive local transportation service for its residents. Our service is efficient and focuses on our residents local needs.
