In accordance with Executive Order 202.1 issued by New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo on March 12, 2020 suspending the New York State Open Meetings Law (Article 7 of the Public Officers Law) to the extent necessary to permit public bodies to meet and take actions without permitting in public in-person access to meetings and authorizing such meetings to be held remotely by conference call or similar service, physical attendance by the public at the meeting will not be permitted. The public may view or listen to the meeting via Zoom as set forth above and a recording of the meeting will subsequently be made available on the Town’s website.

Public Hearing Notice

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Town Board of the Town of Monroe, New York, will conduct a Public Hearing at the Town of Monroe, Town Hall 1465 Orange Tpk., Monroe, New York 10950 on October 19, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard to consider a moratorium on signs larger than twenty-four (24) square feet for four (4) months pending amendments to the Town Code.

Public Information: If you plan on attending this public hearing, a mask must be worn while entering and exiting the building and for the entire duration of your visit. Meeting attendees arriving prior to the 7:00 p.m. meeting start time should enter through the upper level doors where a contactless temperature check will be conducted. Those arriving after 7:00 p.m. must enter the meeting room directly from the patio located off the parking lot on the Reynolds Road side of the Town Hall Building. Admittance will not be permitted via the building's main entrance after 7 p.m.

A maximum of thirty-two (32) individuals will be admitted to the location on a first come, first serve basis until further notice. Individuals exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 (cough, fever, difficulty breathing) should not visit the building. All efforts to will be made to ensure that individuals desiring to speak at public hearings have the opportunity to do so. Some occupants may be asked to step outside if attendance exceeds 32 persons a person is waiting outside of the meeting room to speak.

The Town of Monroe will make every effort to assure that the public hearing is accessible to persons with disabilities. Anyone requiring special assistance and/or accommodations should contract the Town Clerk.
