Dear Town of Monroe Residents and Community Day Attendees:

The Town of Monroe was proud to host its first Community Day at Mombasha Park on Saturday, June 16th.   This community oriented day was celebrated in honor of our local First Responders in appreciation of all that they do for our community.  This fun-filled day featured a large variety of food trucks with mouth-watering menus, several unique vendors, as well as fantastic musical entertainment by several local artists!  We would like to take this opportunity to thank the residents of the Town of Monroe, those who attended our event from surrounding areas, as well as our dedicated First Responders for their support of this event.  The success of this event was a team effort led by Councilman Sal Scancarello and Ann Marie Morris, Director of the Monroe Senior Center and Department Head for Mombasha Park and the Alex Smith Pavilion.  In addition, many Town of Monroe employees worked hard to ensure the success of this event, especially our Highway Department, our Maintenance Team, Dial-A-Bus, Fire Police, and Jennifer Schnaars in the Supervisor’s office.  Thank you to our event emcee, Johnny Ciao for his time and efforts in making the day fun and entertaining.  In addition, we would like to thank Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus and his office, Rob Schreibeis and the Orange County Sherriff’s Department, Alan Mack and Jim Bakun of the Orange County Office of Emergency Management, as well as John Scherne, Town of Monroe Highway Superintendent. It is always wonderful to see various departments and agencies working together to support each other!
