Marriage Lincense
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING POLICY REGARDING WHAT IS NEEDED TO OBTAIN A MARRIAGE LICENSE in Town of Monroe:
Individuals may come in separately. (but they must come in within same week)
The following documentation is required:

Certified birth certificate (in English - if not in English it must be translated and include the translators certification)
Driver’s license or Passport
ALL divorce papers (if you were married two times prior to this one, you will need both sets of divorce papers).
If any prior spouses are deceased, a certified copy of their death certificate is required
The cost for a license is $40.00. Licenses are valid for 60 days but there is a 24 hour waiting period after the license is issued.
An Appointment Must Be Made.
For appointments at Town Hall 11 Stage Rd. Please call 845-783-1900 ext 221, 222, 237.
Appointments are given from 8:30AM - 3:00PM Monday – Friday
Appointments for the Satellite Office in Village of Kiryas Joel Government Center 51 Forest Rd. Please call (845) 783-8300 ext. 2 or 262
Appointments are given from 10:00AM - 4:00PM Monday – Thursday and on Fridays between 10:00am-12:00pm

Home Delivered Meals
Dog Licenses
Cost $10.00 for spayed/fixed dog - $20.00 for non -spayed/unneutered
A current rabies certificate must be presented
All dogs must be licensed by 6 months of age
Annual license renewal is required and can be done by mail
Hunting/Fishing Licenses
You must have a valid drivers license
First time purchases in the Town of Monroe requires the applicant to produce an old hunting license (backtag is not sufficient)

If you are a registered Republican or Democrat and would like to work as an
inspector please contact the town clerk at the number above.
