A Lecture by Orange County Author Kenneth B Lifshitz
Donderburg's Pumpkin Vine
'Donderburg's Pumpkin Vine' offers a unique perspective on the early years of the Revolutionary War in the Hudson Valley and the Great Chain (actually three chains) stretched across the Hudson River from 1776-1778. Ken will discuss the career of the chain's engineer Thomas Machin, genius, scoundrel, polymath, and architect of the Hudson River defenses- from his arrival in New York, through his participation in the Sullivan Expedition against the Iroquois. You will also be able to purchase a copy of the book and have it autographed by Ken.
