How
to Make a Reservation
Call the
Dial-a-Bus between the hours of 8:00 am and 12:00pm Monday through
Friday at least one day in advance. Reservations for regular
daily, bi-weekly or weekly service will be accepted. After
calling hours, leave your name, phone number and message on the
answering machine and you will be called back. Dial-a-Bus
is a first-come- first-served response services. There is
no scheduling more than one week in advance. |
Service
Area
Dial-a-Bus
will provide transportation service throughout the Town of Monroe,
including the Villages of Harriman, Kiryas Joel, and Monroe on all
State, County, Town and Village dedicated roads and streets. |
What
is Dial-a-Bus
Dial-a-Bus
is a 24 hour in advance, demand response transportation service,
which means that you should allow extra time for traveling
as there will be more than one pick-up before Dial-a-Bus gets to
you. It is important to remember that Dial-a-Bus services
as many residents as possible. |
How
it Works
The dispatcher
will schedule your reservation as close to your desired time as
possible and will give you a pick-up time you both agree on.
If you require 'round-trip' service, the dispatcher will schedule
your return trip in the same manner. This service is
first-come-first-served so flexibility and patience are greatly
appreciated. You will need to be waiting outside by
the road 5 minutes before your scheduled time. If Dial-a-Bus
is early, we will wait until you scheduled time and then blow the
horn. If the Bus is on time and you're not, it will blow the
horn and wait 3 minutes before it leaves. |
Special
Features & Rules
Dial-a-Bus
seats 12 passengers and is equipped with a wheelchair lift and locks.
Anything you carry on the bus has to be contained within
your seat, nothing can be left in the aisle. We are not responsible
for anything you take on the bus. No eating or drinking on
the bus. The bus will not move until all passengers are seated.

The
Aim of Dial-a-Bus
The Town
Board of Monroe intends to provide residents with a transportation
system that is both inexpensive and timely. Since our residents
needs change frequently, we expect to make adjustments in its service
along the way. Your support and suggestions are helpful to
us in improving service to you. |
