Service Area

Dial-a-Bus will provide transportation service within the Town of Monroe including the Villages of Monroe, Harriman and Kiryas Joel. We are not permitted on any private road or on private property including driveways.  Our most common stops are Monroe Senior Center, Shoprite, Walmart, Stop and Shop, Target and most Doctors within Monroe.

How We Work

You must call the office to make a reservation in order to have a bus pick you up.  The dispatcher will set you up with a time of pick up and a return time (if requested).  We recommend 3-5 days notice whenever possible.  Please allow enough time before and after your pick-up.  We will usually pick up other peoplealong the way.  All riders must make a reservation and each destination must be told to the dispatcher.  Dial-A-Bus will service as many residents as possible.  We run 2 - 5 buses daily and one fixed route bus.  The express route is a fixed route service that does not require reservations.  Just be in any safe place along the route.  See a driver or call the office for details.

Making your Reservation

Our office hours are Monday - Friday 8:00am - 1:00pm.  You must call during these hours and speak to the dispatcher.  We cannot schedule more than one week ahead of time.  We will set you up with a pick up and a return (if requested).  Cancellations and changes require 24 hours notice.  Cancellations only can be left on the answering machine.

Our Goal

The Town Board of Monroe intends to provide inexpensive local transportation service foe its residents.  Our service is efficient and focuses on our residents local needs.

Important Guidelines
